Nadiv Dharan

Postdoc

Nadiv Dharan is a postdoctoral research scientist, who joined the O'Shaughnessy group in the summer of 2018. Nadiv obtained his PhD in the Biomedical Engineering Department at Ben Gurion University of the Negev in Israel, where he studied the role of membrane-mediated forces in self assembly and aggregation processes of adhesion proteins, by employing a combination of analytical analysis and coarse grained computer simulations. Following his PhD, Nadiv joined the group of Olga Dudko at the Department of Physics at UCSD as a postdoctoral researcher, where he studied the architecture and dynamics of chromatin fibers. In his current work, Nadiv focuses on gaining a deeper understanding of the mechanisms underlying SNARE-mediated synaptic vesicle fusion.
